Wow! The past month has been incredible. We’ve met hundreds of students, community members, parents and school faculty/administrators. I sat at my computer around 5 this morning scanning through pics and footage from the tour and laughed hysterically, beamed with pride and almost cried once (or twice) thinking about how much we’ve accomplished and reliving all the unforgettable moments on the road. Thank you to all the schools who’ve welcomed us with open arms this fall: Richard R. Green HS of Teaching, Plattsburgh High School, Ticonderoga Central School, Crown Point Central School, Keeseville Elementary School, Willsboro Central School, Paterson School No. 5, International High School/Garrett Morgan Academy.

With our Jersey City and DC concerts this week being rescheduled for next Spring, this Thursday and Friday, we conclude the northeast leg of the tour with F.D Stubbs Elementary School in Wilmington, DE on 12/15 and Pelham Preparatory Academy in the Bronx, NY on 12/16. Both shows are open to the public and we’ll be rockin’ from 6pm - 8pm. The Delaware show is FREE, the Bronx concert has a minimal cover charge $5.

So, pick a date and join us, k? Cool. I promise you’ll have a blast.

Here’s a look at some of our favorite photos/moments from the road. Check our Facebook Page for albums from each individual concert. Footage will be making its way to you at the close of the tour.

Once again, thank you all for your continued support!

Hope you all had a phenomenal Thanksgiving (I’m STILL working on leftovers). I’m extremely grateful for growth- mine, yours, and all people as a whole. We visited Crown Point School last week, where we joined as part of their Anti-Bullying Day. Every student wore Be Buddies. No Bullies tees. More…

Tour Updates

Happy Holidays, Tumblr fam! Life feels like it’s moving at 100 miles a minute and we’ve been on the go non-stop over the past three weeks facilitating workshops, info sessions and auditions (plus concerts). This past Tuesday afternoon, we wrapped up our 4th concert on this 13 show run.

Crown Point Central School (a K-12 school) welcomed us with open arms during the unveiling of their new bullying prevention program. We had one of our best concerts to date and afterwards, had the absolute pleasure of joining them for a bonfire, BBQ (yup, in November) and FIREWORKS! — photos coming soon via our Tour Photographer, dame.inspired.

We’re learning, growing and bonding more than I ever could have ever imagined (or dreamed) and the experience is life changing, every time. It’s mind-blowing to be waking up everyday and living out our dreams. We’re back in NYC until Tuesday night enjoying family time, sleep and playing catch up with our other full time jobs but speaking on behalf of the entire team — it’s a blessing to be in this space right now, living in color.

Please know that we are thankful, grateful and appreciative of you and all your support, every single day of the week.

Enjoy the weekend,

Holley Monelle

Full. Steam. AHEAD!
Our Kickstarter project ended with a very interesting turn of events last Thursday. An anonymous funder contributed a very generous amount (offline) to support our mission - enough to finance a significant portion of the fall 2011 tour and successfully get us to ALL 15 schools on our schedule. If you’re still interested in donating to the fall tour, you can click here OR, click on our Donate tab at the top of the blog.
In the meantime, enlarge the web flier, check out the tour dates and mark your calendars. We kick things off on Thursday, November 10 at the Richard R. Green HS of Teaching and would love to see you!

We’ve held on to this video long enough. Here’s the footage from our final stop on the tour at Wadleigh Secondary School for the Performing & Visual Arts.

I (Holley Monelle) cried when I watched it for the first time because it mirrored exactly what we set out to do with the tour and it reminded me that this was never impossible.

Thank you guys for all the support. We’ve got a great summer lined up and are looking forward to kicking the nationwide tour off this fall. Stay tuned for all the details.
